What is gamepad.lol?
gamepad.lol shows your controller inputs on stream. You design an overlay in the browser, get a link, and add that link to OBS as a Browser Source. Every button press, stick movement and trigger pull appears live.
Do I need to install anything?
No. There is no plugin, no app and no driver. The overlay is a web page, so all you need is OBS and a controller plugged into the same PC.
Is it free?
Yes. You can create an overlay without an account and it stays up for 7 days. A free account keeps up to three overlays for good and removes the watermark. Pro adds unlimited overlays and custom CSS for $5 a month.
Which controllers work?
Anything your PC recognizes as a gamepad: Xbox, PlayStation (DualSense and DualShock), Switch Pro, and most third-party pads, arcade sticks and hitboxes with a gamepad mode. There are dedicated skins for Xbox, PlayStation and Switch Pro, plus a neutral one for everything else.
Does it work with Streamlabs, Twitch Studio or other streaming apps?
Any app that can add a browser source should work, since the overlay is just a web page. OBS Studio is the one we test on day to day.
Do I have to refresh OBS after changing my overlay?
No. Changes you save in the editor show up in OBS within a moment, without touching the Browser Source. You can tweak colors and layout mid-stream.
My overlay does not move in OBS. What should I check?
Press any button once: browsers only expose a controller after it has been used. If it still stays still, open the source's Properties, click Refresh cache of current page and press a button again.
Does it work on macOS?
Not inside OBS yet. OBS on macOS does not give browser sources access to controllers, which affects every browser-based input overlay, not just ours. A small native helper that fixes this is in the works. On Windows, everything works with just the link.
Does it work with a dual-PC streaming setup?
Not yet. The controller has to be connected to the PC that runs OBS. Support for sending inputs from a separate gaming PC is coming with the same native helper.
Will the overlay show anything if my controller disconnects?
No. The overlay never shows error messages or loading spinners on stream. If something drops, it stays quiet and reconnects on its own.
Is the overlay link safe to show on stream?
Yes. The OBS link is read-only: anyone who sees it can watch your inputs, but nobody can change your overlay with it. Editing needs your account or a separate private key that never appears in a URL.
Can I use my own design?
Every overlay lets you change colors, the overlay size, deadzones, button labels and the position and visibility of each element. Pro also unlocks custom CSS for complete control over how it looks.
