Gamepad tester

Plug in any controller and press a button. You will see every button, trigger and stick react live, with the exact values your browser reads.

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing about your controller leaves your computer.

Connect a controller and press any button.

Browsers only reveal a controller after you press one of its buttons, so the page stays empty until then. Wired and Bluetooth both work.

How it works

Your browser reads controllers through the Gamepad API, the same way a stream overlay does. This page shows exactly what that API reports: which buttons are pressed, how far each trigger is pulled and where each stick sits, from -1 to 1 on every axis.

Triggers and some buttons are analog, so you see a value between 0 and 1 rather than just on or off. Sticks are shown twice: as a dot on a circle and as raw axis values. A healthy stick returns close to 0.00 when you let go and reaches the edge of the circle in every direction.

If more than one controller is connected, pick the one you want to test at the top. Remapping tools and virtual controllers show up here too, which makes this a quick way to see what an overlay will pick up.

Questions

Why does the page not see my controller?

Press a button first: browsers hide controllers until one is used, so websites cannot fingerprint your hardware. If it still does not appear, try another USB port or cable, pair it again over Bluetooth and close apps that take exclusive control of the controller.

Some buttons light up in the wrong place. Is my controller broken?

Usually not. When the button layout says Unknown, the browser does not know how your controller's buttons are wired, so it lists them in raw order. They still work in games; only web-based overlays and testers show them in a different order.

Why does vibration not work?

Vibration from web pages works in Chrome, Edge and other Chromium-based browsers; support elsewhere is patchy. It says nothing about the motors themselves. If in doubt, test them in a game or in your platform's controller settings.

Can I show this on my stream?

Not this page, but gamepad.lol overlays read the same input: create one, paste its link into OBS as a Browser Source, and every press shows up live on stream with a transparent background.

Sticks wandering when you let go? Run the stick drift test. Setup and troubleshooting for stream overlays are in the guides.

Everything works? Put it on stream.

No install, no account. Pick a skin, make it yours, paste one link into OBS.
